Oy! My name is Per
Øyvind Nygård. I'm a 27 year old "geek" from Norway. I write geek in
quotation marks, because I sort of consider myself a geek, even though I
don't think I actually fit in any conventional geek category. I am
interested in several things that can be considered geek-ish; Computers,
comics, games, music, programming, etc... But none to a level that really qualify me
as an actual geek, at least not in my opinion.
I
live in a place called Dokka, but I spend most of my time at my
girlfriend Wenche's place in Gran. Because of several health and
economic issues, as well as friends and family, I can't really move away
from Dokka anytime soon, and the same is the case for Wenche when it
comes to moving away from Gran. So even though we'd both like to move in
with each other, it's impossible at the moment.
I
am technically half-Dutch, my mother lived in the Netherlands until she
was 11, and was still a Dutch citizen when I was born, which means I
was as well for a short while. I, unfortunately, can't speak Dutch,
though. I'd very much like to learn, and I'm currently able to
understand a bit of it, but I'm nowhere near able to actually make
myself understood. I have found a woman from the Netherlands, an old
friend of my deceased grandmother, that has volunteered to be my
Dutch-teacher, but she lives at Dokka, and as I already mentioned I
don't spend too much time at Dokka, so I haven't had a single lesson
yet.
